Taft-Hartley Plans

Ning Lilly & Jones has represented local Taft-Hartley funds for over 15 years, including negotiating with the Department of Labor on behalf of local trust funds as a result of a DOL audit, successfully representing local funds before the National Labor Relations Board, and advising Trustees on a regular basis regarding their fiduciary obligations as it relates to selection/hiring of fund professionals, investments, expenses, and ongoing compliance with federal laws such as ERISA and HIPAA. The Firm has also provided consultation services to clients interested in establishing a VEBA.

NLJ Hawaii Taft-Hartley Conference

The Ning Lilly & Jones Annual Taft-Hartley Conference is an excellent opportunity to share information on a wide range of topics from Investment or Health and Welfare Issues to Trustee responsibilities and fiduciary duties. The NLJ Second Annual Conference was held on May 23-25, 2007 and featured speakers from Minnesota to Bangkok. Mr. Pete Kaehler, President and CEO of Compre Healthcare Solutions spoke on "Health Benefit Accounts" while Mr. Thirachai Jotikkubukana and Mr. Todd Leong from Bangkok Hospital shed light on "Global Health Initiatives" and the potential for plans to offer participants a lower cost medical alternative.
